In Thailand, it is okay to not leave tips for taxi drivers but sometimes we do tell them to keep the changes. I always leave tips more than 15 percent. If the taxi driver can get me to my destination quicker than I expected, I would leave tips 20 percent. In my opinion, taxi drivers do work hard and do deserve to be tipped. I think that if you have money to spend on taking a taxi, you should be aware of saving some money to give it as a tip for the taxi drivers too. How much do you tip a taxi driver?  Phunthila R. |

well,its deepens on how he serves, some drivers don't even say "hello", drives reckless, they deserve 10% tip.But still some of them so nice and ask about air conditioner, radio, even they have car inside very clean. In this way for sure you can tip him 15-20 % I think!
in my country we don't tip our taxi drivers too.

 In Colombia we don't give any kind of tip to the taxi driver but here When I am sober, $2-$3 if the ride is average $10-15 bucks - which mine usually are. If it's over $15 I toss in a couple more. If I am drunk, $10 and then the manfriend waits until we're out of the cab and says "Ugh, you know you just tipped him $10, right?". |
