The average length of maternity leave in USA is 6 weeks, sometimes 3 months. Do you think it's enough? And what's then, take your newborn to daycare so early if you don't have grandmas and so on? In my country it's 3 years and you can even extend it to 6 years if you need!!! What do you think??

Well, this is America. They have also the short paid summer vacation. In my country maternity leave is 2 years. But I guess this is mostly in European countries.Of course is not enough, but there is nothing we can do about it. Anyway there is an important number of staying -home mothers in US.Motherhood used to be a full time job, but times are different now.

In Lithuania is now one or two years length. two years ago you could choose between two or three years. Then I think about the U.S., I think it's very strange and pity. I think for newborn is very important connection between mother and children. So how he can get it, if the mother leave him after some weeks or months? So there is a possibility still, you must have husband with full pocket of money
