In my opinion credit card is not good idea! If we use the card We must be pay later! It's mean we work very hard and get money but the money doesn't put own wallet! Eventually it's giving to us big stress!think it's not good idea!

I used a lot of cash when I was in my country, because it is convient and we are used to use it. I do not like credit card, because you do not feel how much money you have spent. In the USA, I also found that people like to use card, I do not know why, perhaps because the card is safe than cash.

Yes, they really do becuase I think at some point it's helpful. For example, you need to buy something right away but your pay day is next week so what are you going to do? In this situation it's perfect for you to have a credit card so you can buy the thing that you really need. The problem with credit card is you would be tempted to buy anything that you want not what you need. So I think it will depend to the one who's using it if he's/she's going to use it for necessities or for pleasures. For me, a credit card is good for emergencies but just for emergencies. Other than that, if you don't know how to control yourself with shopping thatn you should not have one.

I agree that they really do but who doesn't? Even CSI was so nice that arranged the day for us when we were able apply for a credit card here in school. Also I did but the best part of it is, that they never sent that to me! ;D It's been two months already and I'm still waiting! Patience has always been my weakest link! ;D

Yes, credit cards are certainly very popular in America. I find them useful too. It's a lot easier to carry a credit/ debit card instead of cash. Cash can be stolen easily, so can credit /debit cards, except, you can always call the credit card company and cancell your card, while you can't get your cash back! I also prefer carrying credit/ debit cards instead of cash. The other thing is i don't really like to carry change(coins) in my purse/pockets

I think it is a good idea. It is so convenient. Moreover, you do not have to worried about your wallet getting stolen by someone. I always have cash with me for $5-$10. It is because my wallet was stolen last year and I had more than $1000 in it. That was my experience. Furthermore, every month after I use my credit card, I get gift card from my credit card account. I think it is better than spending cash. Phunthila R.

I think carrying credit cards is a good idea. However, you should know how to use them properly. You may have one or two credit cards which are VISA or/and MASTER. It's very covenient to have them. You don't need to carry cash and you benefit from special offers from credit card provider. You can save some money when you go to the store. Some cardit card providers offer cash back every time you are qualified. Your credit score can be evaluated from using credit card. It's very very important to make payment on time. Using credit card can help you to mange your money. Just make a payment at full amount and on time.

I have never had credit cards before coming in USA.I used to have only debit cards. There are advantages and disadvantages for using credit cards and most of them are presented here already. There is an important thing that was not mentioned. It is important to use credits card for making a credit history. When you get a new job, a new house, there is always a background check on you. A good credit history it always helpful. It is possible to get a credit card as a student , but you need to pay some cash first. You don't need to spend to much, but in the in the meantime you gonna built the credit history. This could be really important if are you planning to stay here more than a few months.

yes ,they really like to carry the credit cards. almost everyone must have one wallet that will have lots of card. actually, in your wallet you can havenot cash but you must have card. they like any different card, not only the credit cards. such like some stores and market . if you use those cards will be cheaper than only pay the money.

I agree that Americans like to carry credit cards. Most of the time work i always see people paying by cards just 10 percent paying by cash. I don't like this way because i think The more cards you carry, the more likely you are to over-extend yourself. Also remember even if you have a credit card in your wallet but never use it, it adds to your available credit, which affects your credit rating.

Oh yes they do! I think its good and bad idea. I don't have any credit card so far, and I am not willing to get one as well. I usually over waste my money. For someone like me who likes to spend most money that I have, credit card is not that good idea. I am over spending my money than I spouse to anyway, so imagine what would happen if I get a credit card! On the other hand, there are times that you really need money, for instance; emergency situation, that credit card will save you. So whether if its good idea or bad idea it kind of depends I think.
